Give It to God

God’s Word has so much to say about how we should handle worry and anxiety. For example, Jesus said: “Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow [seed] nor reap [the harvest] nor gather [the crops] into barns, and yet your heavenly Father keeps feeding them. Are you not worth much more than they? And who of you by worrying can add one hour to [the length of] his life? ...So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself...” (Matthew 6:26-27, 34 AMPC).

I love this because it’s so practical. God is basically saying, “Look, I have everything under control—you can count on Me to always be there. So don’t bother worrying, because it won’t do you any good anyway. Just focus on today!” We have a choice to make. When we’re tempted to think over and over about a situation and worry about the future, it’s up to us to stop, give it to God, then choose to enjoy the present moment.
